Post subject: How It is today Reply with quote

Hi evry one , Im 27 years of age male and living in london. At the age of 23 I discoverd crack cocaine , before this i had dabled with cocaine, alcohol ,weed ,speed and was prescribed anti-depresents at 19 which i took till 23 . i started to smoke crack and drink heavily at 23 .At the first stage my life was o kay , i was organised and able to keep things together and was hopefull about the future. Then came crack the most confusing substance on this planet .My life spireled out of control very rapidly ,I satred to loose evrything ,sell evrything to smoke crack and drink alcohol, spending hundreds on it each week for about 2 years loosing my family at the time 2 .Then i landed my self in jail ,for the first time in my life .I spent 2 and a half months in prison reflecting on things when i was due for sentencing i was granted a court order as i had asked for help with my drug problem.I was put on a requirement order to spend time in rehab, 8 months on and I have made it thru making the transition into a new flat away from old ways. I am now 10 months clean from any drugs including alcohol altho i do smoke tobaco. my life has changed for the better , i now have my integraty back and also family nephew and neases ect.Addiction tho isnt easy and sometimes altho i know i have evrything to live for i am ocasionly tempted by the beast of addiction but have been okay so far.I atend meetings NA occasionly but my social phobias make it difficult to do this at regular intervals and now that i am out in the real world I figured a site like this would be a great way to share with others my experience and also to learn how others have managed to stay in recovery.I know ive gone on a bit and ive leave it hear for now, this is my first post by the way.All i know right now is I am greatfull to be where i am today and hope to maintain it. As many of us know addiction is dangerous and crack kills and destroys lives. We are much more worthy than that RIGHT ! *peace*

Real,

This is wonderful place. You will never have to feel alone again in your struggle. We are all here to share our stories, our experiences and offer our support to others. I've just been visiting the site for one week, and don't know what I would have done without the fine people who are helping each other here. Every minute of every day toward success counts. Keep up your strength and continued success. -Jenni
