Hi Jenni
How is your step mother doing...any improvement?
And, your father, how is he holding up?
What about you? How are you holding up?

As I've been driving around the past few days, I've been feeling the loss of the living. It seems that everywhere I go, I am reminded. It is funny...how the previous six years are so much harder to remember than the last year and a half.
What did you mean by that Jenni?
Animals & nature?
What?
You find it odd, the last year and a half,
is easier to recall then the past 6 years?
LOL...The years are sneaking up on you

Today he has court. I've not heard from him for 2 weeks. I hope things go well.

My dad is doing about the same. My stepmother is not doing well. They are weaning her off of her medications to prevent a potentially life threating condition from developing. Personally I've wondered about all the medications she has been on since they do not seem to bring her any relief and are mostly treating symptoms not cause...I guess they don't know the cause....except for the latest condition...it's probably related to all the meds she's on, so she has to get off them. I guess her symptoms are likely to reappear though.
Everywhere I go.
I am reminded of you.
You are gone.
I am here with my memories.
I miss you.
I am spending a lot of time at work and hanging out with friends and pets on weekends. My feline family is blending well. His cat and mine, for the most part enjoy each other's company now and the fighting has turned to play unless they are sparring for the attention I am paying one or the other instead of both simultaneously.
No word on how court went. Next court dates are the end of next month...and trial date is in December.
Jenni,
Keeping you & your's in my thoughts & prayers!
Hope this finds all is as well as can be,
and that any struggles or sorrows you may be facing,
find you keeping the faith, knowing G0D is at your side.
I pray your father & step-mother are in better health,
and that your friend is still fighting the good fight!
I Love You, my sister in Christ!
In My Thoughts & Prayers,
All My Love,
Lynn

Lynn,
Thanks for keeping me, my family and my friend in your thoughts and prayers.
My father's tumor shrank, but it is still there and everywhere else. Next week he starts maintenance chemo. The goal is to keep it where it is now.
My stepmother is still struggling with her issues.
We all continue to try to stay positive.
My friend seems to be working on getting his life together. It is hard to judge from this distance. I hope he is fighting the good fight too. He is talking to his mother...and me on occassion...the last occassion out of the blue...I take that as a good sign. Anyway, stopping to visit him on my way back home for the holidays. Yes, Lucy...I'm going home for the holidays, so if you want to get together let me know.
I've been working a lot and hard, and finally feel like I'm getting something accomplished. I have a student who has been a Godsend literally. Haven't had much time for socializing, but managed to spend a little time with friends over the holidays.
How is Jacob? How's the job search? I hope everyone is well and that your holidays are joyous. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
I haven't posted for a long time. Last time I did, I didn't have much else to say.
I'm still in touch with my b/f. I don't know how things are going for him really. He tells me things are fine and going well. I hope they are.
My dad is in remission.
Still trying to study.
Got injured in an accident early this year. I've been in pain ever since. Can't stay on the computer very long because it causes pain. It's not all bad though....got a new car and massages several times a week.
My brother told my mom that the doc's are turning me into a junkie. I thought that comment was extremely funny. Not that it is funny for my brother to think that, but given what I've gone through with my friend, that would be extremely ironic and I would do everything in my power to avoid it. I'm supposed to take my pain killers every 4 hours. I take them once a day. They make me sleepy so I can't take them any more than that. One day I did take 3. Slept all day....was almost pain free the next....but the pain came back....so, looking for a more permanent solution.
Hope everyone is doing well. I miss you and do try to keep up on your threads as much as I can.
Saw a big moose yesterday in my front yard. Spring has sprung. Like Diane's neck of the woods, we've finally gotten out of the deep freeze.
Jenni, while you are in pain, painkillers works on your pain receptors, you are not even feel high. At the moment, when somebody taking painkillers for the reason different then to easy a pain, at that moment it becomes a problem.
PS. Personally, I found that Advil works for me even better than opiate based painkillers.

Thanks Gene. Actually I'm on a combination of things....painkillers which I don't take as much as is prescribed...can't work and not be alert....
anti-inflamatory that is supposed to be stronger than Advil and muscle relaxer. I was taking Advil before the other meds and was in more pain than I am now...still 2 disks are herniated, so my choices are hope all these therapies and exercises work....and keep doing them...nerve block...epidural...or surgery. I'm tired of the pain, so leaning toward the epidural or surgery. I don't want to stay on any meds too long. I'm going to schedule a consult with a surgeon just to see....then I will decide what to do.
Actually cryotherapy stops the pain temporarily...but it always comes back....and there is nerve involvement, so it radiates down my arms and back.
I know this type of pain, had 2 herniated disks myself last summer. Well, as I know: surgery does not guarantee you a a positive result. Myorelaxants and painkillers made me dizzy, so I didn't take them. Hot shower on the painful region gave some relieve, also I used Lidocaine patches (Lidoderm) http://www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/lidoderm_ids.htm and Heet http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/d ... did=432165 as a Paravertebral Blockade. Also acupuncture known to produce positive outcome.
Get well soon,
