The Idea

The idea for Avatar Sizer came about after a number of posts on various forums requested information on how to create an Avatar. Most of those making the Posts didn't want or need one of the larger commercial graphics programs. The Forum Users just needed something very quick and very easy to use. A quick trawl through Google didn't throw up anything which would do the job so I rashly I promised to create a program for the Forum Members. Avatar Sizer was born.

Avatar Sizer was initially designed to take an image and resize it to a set size for that forum. It was only after Avatar Sizer was completed that its full potential became obvious. Even the experienced computer users were using it simply because it was so easy to use.

At this point Avatar Sizer was altered so that it could cope with most sizes of Avatars from very small up to 150x150 pixels. The facility to handle single image (unanimated) GIFs was also added. This made Avatar Sizer suitable for use with most Forums, Instant Messenger programs, PDA address books, Camera Phone phone books and the like.

Other Uses

Avatar Sizer can be used anywhere a small image is required, not just for Avatars. Here are some examples:

· you can use it to create a series of small images for an auction
· or to create small images for use on your web site
· or to illustrate a report
· or to illustrate an essay
· or to illustrate a school assignment
· or to create small images for a CD, DVD or cassette label or cover
· or to create small images of the inside of a house for a Realty Brochure
