Post subject: Crack has ruined my life without me ever using it... Reply with quote

I am coming to this site to find help. My family has had many problems with drugs, everyine but me. I am the youngest member of my family, and the only one who does not do drugs. I am 16 and have moved out from my family's care, my father and brother have moved into the same town as me and only smoke pot. My sister is in state jail for violation of probation from being arrested for drug possesion, she is clean and seems to be doing well. But.. My mother is a crack *censored prostitute living on the streets of Houston. My dad and brother could care less, they have not been around here for at least 5 years. My sister gets released on Valentine's day next month, and she wants to find my mom before she goes to Michigan to live with her two young daughters. She has been constantly asking me how she is through letters and I had told her I could not find her, which was true. But yesterday I did find her through one of my friends that I still keep in contact with in Houston. She is living on the streets and having sex with anyone for a chance to get crack, my friend said that the last time she saw her was a few weeks ago and that she was getting thrown out of a car, naked and beaten. Her cheek bones and nose smashed. It hurt me just to hear that, and I don't want my sister to see that, I fear that she might relapse. I would live to out her in rehab, but I could never afford it. I don't know what to do.

I wish I had the words that would make you feel better about things, but I don't. But what I will tell you is to "stay strong". Believe me, your mom and sister need you to be strong. One day they will appreciate the strength you posess.

Hi,
I can't help but feel for you in your situation. All I can say is pray for your mom. The woman your friend saw is just a shell of your mom. she is an addict so deep in the grips of addiction that not even a beating that bad can stop her from selling her body for more dope. Please don't let your sister anywhere near her. The trying to rescue her could surely send her into a relapse. Remind her of her own children, they need her more right now.
As for your mom perhaps you can tell your friend to give your mom your number and use it only when she has had enough and is ready to get clean. There are resources through this site that can help you find a way to get mom help. Only when she is willing to get help though will it work.
G0D Bless you and take care
Welcome
Anastasia
