Hello Everyone
I have been on this site for a very short time. I have not posted anything new. I am just looking for some advice on getting over my debt and would like some insight.
Over the past year or two I have accumulated over $40,000 in debt (Credit Line)(Spent on Drugs, Partying) I have some savings and a car. I also have a job. It does not make sense to claim bankruptcy.
I have been clean since the begginning of October 2007. I have not drank, used cocaine and recently quit smoking I feel great except for constant reminder (slap in the face) debt I owe. . Any advice anyone? |

| Consider yourself one of the lucky ones. You have a job a car and some savings. I wiped out my dads savings , my uncles savings, spent 135,000.00 in 5 months morgaged the house behind my brother's back and had to start from scratch from below zero. Way below. Today with a year clean approaching me I am rebuilding my life one foot in front of the other. Got work, got a car, lost the house no savings do the grind... pay bills, pay rent, try to get ahead a little at a time. Everyday I don't use dope is money saved. Cut yourself some slack, you didn't have to file bankruptcy. You chose to do the dope, these are the consequences of your addiction. I guess you weren't thinking about that when you were getting high huh? I know I sure wasn't. One foot in front of the other there is no magic. Don't use. Go to work. Cut out some of your extras... fine dining, movies, clothes shopping..???? |

| Thanks for replying excracker, Sometimes it is easy to forget what I still have! I am lucky considering how much worse it could have been. Congradulations on your year clean I hope I make it there as well. What do you say to yourself or do when you find your mind wondering and dwelling on the past? My mind sometimes becomes consumed with thoughts of why did I allow myself to fall so deep. |

Dear screwmaster,
Don't dwell on the past... let it go. You can't change what is already done. All you can do is move on. Don't pick up. Learn from your past. Don't deny what you have done. That is your truth. If it didn't kill you it has made you stronger. Keep fighting the good fight.
Stay clean. Be cool!
Peace
:

On a different note.
Drunk man came home Saturday morning after drinking all night long.
Wife asked him: Where is the money honey?
- In the bags, man answered.
- What bags? wife asked.
- The bags under my eyes, man replied. |

| Actually it is not a reminder, it is a joke. However, every joke is only a part joke, part is true. |

Cute joke Gene... I will have something to chuckle about while I am applying concealer to my under the eye area this morning ...
Hey wait!!! I think I forgot to appropriately pay for my bags, ohhh yeah ... it's the number thing.. I am not as young as I used to be ... at least I don't have a hangover
Cheers !
